![]() ![]() But even when depicting the bitchiness of the princess, there is still a 3-dimensional and sympathetic side shown to those of the royal family, namely Feimz, the original prince. He comes to take over the current kingdom in power which is mainly full of the rich and greedy. He certainly gains a lot of power by the end, but not only does he become very physically and emotionally damaged, but a lot of different groups of people come to hate him simply for doing things that any leader has to to maintain power. The main character starts off as a typical overly innocent character with a shitty life, and most people would probably expect him to turn out happy by the end of this adventure. But they go through shit and come out developed with good purpose. None of the characters simply go through some shit and come out happy in the end. Not to mention that fantasies aren't about fun and magic all day this story doesn't hold back in physical and emotional cruelty that the characters go through. The overall theme I found is that legends/heroes are not perfect and polished the way they are written to be. This book really offers elements that you don't see in many fantasy stories. I'm reviewing the most recently updated version of this book, "Autumn Leaves". ![]()
